Set up your Dell Vostro 3500 Laptop
Step 1: Plug in the power adapter and turn on the computer.
NOTE The battery may enter power saving mode to conserve battery power.
Complete the installation of the operating system.
For Ubuntu
complete the setup by following the on-screen directions. See the knowledge base articles SLN151664 and SLN151748 at www.dell.com/support for more information on installing and configuring Ubuntu.
To finish the setup on Windows, follow the on-screen directions.
• Connect to a network for Windows updates when starting up, according to Dell.
NOTE When prompted, provide the wireless network access password if you’re connecting to a secured network.
• If you have an internet connection, sign in or create a Microsoft account. Create an offline account if you are not connected to the internet.
•On the Support and Protection screen, enter your contact details.
3. Locate and use Dell apps from the Windows Start menu—Recommended.
